'Carom' was the name of the lunchtime maths group that I ran across my sixth form teaching career.
Carom = 'Creative Activities Resulting in Offbeat Mathematics.'
'Offbeat' here means 'off the beaten track' - that's 'off the syllabus'.
Gathered together here is the extracurricular Carom material we covered.
The original Carom PowerPoints have now been updated (April 2026),
and the results can be downloaded for free by clicking on the image below.
The Carom 2026 PDF eBook contains background material and links
to all the PowerPoints and computer files and can be downloaded for free HERE .
As a backup, I've also placed this onto Payhip, where it can be downloaded for free.
The revised tasks also include new Excel, Autograph, GeoGebra and PDF files that can be opened or downloaded HERE .
Some files, especially the 'Excel with macros' ones, may need to be security-enabled on your computer.
